About James Hawver

James Hawver has brokered more than 500 residential and commercial real estate transactions in
New York City since 2011, representing buyers and sellers, tenants and landlords throughout
Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

Prior to joining The Brewer Team, he spent five years with Bold New York / Compass, where he was
the exclusive agent for more than two dozen buildings, including new developments, many of which in
Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where he lived for nine years.

A former reporter, James brings a journalistic approach to real estate representation: observing,
asking questions, listening and valuing fact over flash.

Born and raised in Rochester, he studied journalism at Ithaca College then worked as a daily
newspaper reporter in his home city. After covering the Olympics in Turin, Beijing and Vancouver, he
moved to New York to help produce a NPR show at WNYC Public Radio.
